Reeds Jewelers purchased by Samuel Zimmer

Reeds Jewelers second store opened on Falls Street in the heart of downtown Niagara Falls. For the succeeding twenty years Reeds conducted its business from these two locations.

Jenss purchased by the Dautch family

Arnold Zimmer joined his father in business after graduation from The Wharton School of Finance and Commerce. The third Reeds store, in suburban Niagara Falls, was opened in the area’s first open air, strip center.

Jenss opened third store in Niagara Falls, NY

Arnold opened Reeds first mall location in suburban Buffalo: the mall was ironically owned in part by the Dautch family. Upon the passing of her husband Samuel, Rose Zimmer became president of Reeds Jewelers.

Jenss opened fourth store in Amherst, NY

Jenss opened the first Jenss Decor shop, with expanded bridal registry

The fifth Reeds Store in the second mall location opened

Lawrence Dautch, current President, joins Jenss after graduation from Yale

Reeds Jewelers plaza location in Niagara Falls was moved to the newly completed Summit Park Mall

Arnold Zimmer succeeded his mother as president

Reeds expanded into Syracuse, Rochester, Jamestown, New York, Erie Pennsylvania, Freehold, New Jersey, Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Jeffrey Zimmer joined the business after graduation from Northeastern University and the Gemological Institute of America.

Reeds/Jenss

Reeds Jewelers was opened in Niagara Falls in 1912. Since then, the company has grown to ten stores in four states. Jenss Décor has served the home décor, collectible and bridal registry of countless western New Yorkers for over 100 years.

Over cocktails at a wedding, the owners of Reeds Jewelers and Jenss Décor had an idea to combine forces to establish a one-stop shop for jewelry, fine giftware and collectibles. On a cocktail napkin, the plan was hatched and Reeds/Jenss became a store dedicated to the needs of brides. Reeds/Jenss is one of the few stores in the country that assists a bride from her engagement ring to the bridal registry to the selection of wedding bands.
